In 2019 Santiago Páramo founded The Community Music Studio, an Atlanta based recording studio with the mission to advance independent music and the communities that surrounds it.
The Community Music Studio also produces masterclasses, lectures and concerts, as we continue focusing our attention on what's next.
The studio is the result of many years of instrument and gear acquisition, in order to provide the best recording experience and sonic results for independent artists. Situated in a home environment, the studio is a comfortable and nurturing space where creative ideas flourish and relaxed performances are the norm.
“Santiago was a delight to work with while laying down three violin tracks for a friend’s album. His home studio is cozy and well-designed. I especially appreciated his charming studio assistant Boogie the dog and a bright little Colombian dart frog who sat on my music stand. Furthermore, I found Santiago to be a skilled audio engineer - I appreciated his choice and placement of microphones for acoustic violin (it’s rare to find non-classical musicians who understand my instrument). Santiago is not merely a good sound engineer; he demonstrated excellent musical instinct and expressed insightful ideas for how to use my instrument on the album while encouraging me to take risks within my own artistic judgment. As a result, we ended up with excellent takes on each track that struck an excellent balance between uninhibited musicality and balance with the other voices on the track. Overall, our work unfolded smoothly and efficiently. He was able to narrow our material down to a few good takes and edit from there. It certainly made my job easy. I will definitely work with Santiago again if given the chance!”

“Working with Santiago was a dream. Not only is his studio equipped to a deliver high quality product, but it is also located in a space committed to supporting all creatives regardless of background or experience. I am 100% satisfied with his work. The lines of communication were always open and I received the recording in a timely manner. When the next opportunity to record comes, Santiago will be my first call for collaborators.”

“A kind and compassionately motivated individual, Santiago Páramo is a rather rare type of sound engineer, composer and producer. He is an artist serving artists. With his intuitive guidance he is capable of elevating an artist’s ability to explore harmonic space in a safe and constructive environment. In my experience, his calm is the quiet before a beautiful storm highlighting the claps of thunder and terrifying strikes of lightning while also giving pause to the rests between raindrops. In this approach each moment may be honored. As opposed to dissecting with a microscope, Santiago’s lens is that of a kaleidoscope dialing in fractals with a honed and keen ear. Do yourself a favor. Give yourself permission to take the journey. Santiago will help nourish the fruits of your labor as they come to fruition on the other shore.”
